On Wednesday October 10, 2012, the Lewes Lions Club presented two checks to the Lewes Fire Department during the Lions Club's monthly meeting . One check was issued to Fire Chief Wally Evans for the Lewes Fire Department. The other check was given to Fire Police Captain Edward Schaeffer to go towards the new Fire Police Traffic Control Unit.
