EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES
The Lewes Fire Dept., Inc. provides emergency medical services for the Town of Lewes and surrounding areas, including Cape Henlopen State Park and the Cape May – Lewes Ferry. We currently staff our units with 25 full-time career NREMT-Bs and 6 part-time career NREMT-Bs who work in shifts of six during the day and four at night. All shifts are complimented with volunteer NREMT-Bs as call volumes demand. This staffing allows Lewes Fire Department to provide EMS coverage for our district on a 24/7 basis with no interruption in service, despite the enormous growth in our area and rising number of EMS calls.
