New Museum Dedication and Apparatus Housing - Lewes Fire Department, Inc. Station 1

On Saturday June 18th. 2011 the members of the Lewes Fire Department, Inc. formally dedicated our new museum to the late 39 Year Member, Past President and Fire Chief Louis A. Rickards. A ceremony was held in front of the new museum presenting an exterior bronze plaque to honor Lou. An Apparatus Blessing and Housing was also included in the ceremony celebrating the recent purchases of a 2010 GMC C-4500/Road Rescue Ambulance and a 2010 Pierce Velocity 1750 GPM Pumper. The new ambulance will run as A-82 and the pumper will run as 82-9. The event was followed by an open house with refreshments for everyone that attended. We would like to thank everyone that presented speeches or gifts and everyone that attended the events. A special thanks goes out to the following local businesses for providing refreshments: Taste of Italy, The Buttery, JD's Filling Station, Jerry's Grill, Superfresh, Surf Bagel The Memorial Fire Company of Slaughter Beach provided fire supression and rescue coverage for the Lewes Area during the event.
