This free event will feature children’s activities, equipment display, live fire & vehicle extrication demonstrations, a smoke house, and a drone station. Children can try on kid-size gear to really feel the “weight” of what it takes to be a firefighter. The LFD Auxiliary will have a “decorate and eat” fire-themed sugar cookie station. Fat Vinny’s, Tipsy Flamingo, Smashmouth Burgers and DaNizza Pizza food trucks, as well as Revelation Beer, will be on-site for dinner and drink purchases.
Children are invited to partake in a scavenger hunt. If they visit eight of the activities to have their “passport” stamped by a member, they will receive a State Farm prize, compliments of Jeanine O’Donnell, and a Lewes Fire Department Challenge Coin. Sparky will be available for high fives and photo opportunities throughout the night.
There will also be raffles. Some of the raffle opportunities include men’s and women’s bikes, Lewes Fire Dept. memorabilia and the opportunity for four people to ride in a fire truck during the Lewes Christmas Parade.
