FULL TIME JOB POSTING Lewes Fire Department is a busy, progressive station that runs a diverse mix of calls and is currently accepting applications for (1) Full-time positions of Firefighter/EMT. Part-time positions of EMT and Firefighter/EMT are also available. Career staff work a 24 on 72 off schedule. Successful candidates will provide the following with their resumes, Fire/EMS training records, driving record, and criminal background record prior to testing date. Applicants must be able to pass a department physical agility test, medical physical, and drug screening. Minimum Qualifications 21 Years of Age or Older High School Diploma or GED Valid Driver’s License Nationally Registered EMT Delaware EMT CPR/AED Basic Firefighting* Structural Firefighting* Vehicle Rescue* Hazardous Material Response Skills* Emergency Vehicle Operator Driver/Operator* (*Delaware State Fire School approved equivalent accepted) * Preferred but not Mandatory for HIre Job Description (Includes but not limited to) Employees will conduct daily equipment checks on all ambulances/other apparatus. Other duties as assigned to include light janitorial and maintenance work. Employees are expected to perform firefighting activities as assigned. Due to the nature of the work being performed, employees must be able to lift at least 200 pounds with the assistance of a partner.
