Lewes FD responded and assisted the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Department on a house struck by lightning. A bolt struck the residence on the corner of Coventry and Cornwall roads Tuesday, June 9, setting a fire in the attic. RBVFD was also assisted by Bethany Beach, Roxana, Indian River and Milton fire departments. Upon arrival, RBVFD found smoke billowing from the windows. The residents weren’t home, and no injuries were reported.
