Headquarters Station 1

The current Station 1 was built in 1992 replacing the fire house that was purchased in 1931. This building has many modern features including sleeping quarters for the volunteers and a command center for the City of Lewes for major emergencies. A museum room was added in 2007 to house our 1925 American LaFrance antique pumper along with displaying our history. The original Station 1 was in City Hall and located on West Third Street from the late 1800’s through 1931, currently housing an antique store.

Station 2

This station was constructed in 2014 and commenced operations in 2015 to enhance service to the rapidly expanding Nassau area. The original Station 2 was established in a pole barn-style boat storage building in 1987, situated around the corner from our present location. From 1989 to 2013, the second building served at our current location until it was demolished in 2013 to pave the way for our new facility. The current structure was designed to meet our needs well into the next century. Spanning 24,500 square feet across two stories with a partial basement, it boasts elevator access to all levels. The first floor accommodates bunk rooms, offices, a laundry room, tool room, radio room, compresor room, kitchen, and a members’ lounge. The second floor features over 2100 square feet of meeting space, a sizable break-out training room, a kitchen for meeting purposes, additional offices, and storage. The basement houses four mechanical rooms, a spacious fitness area, two locker rooms, and two large multipurpose storage rooms. Station 2 serves as home to an engine/tanker, rescue truck, brush truck, multiple ambulances, utility vehicle, and a small boat. Additionally, Station 2 serves as the venue for numerous Auxiliary fundraising events.
