The Lewes Fire Dept., Inc. provides emergency medical services for the Town of Lewes and surrounding areas, including Cape Henlopen State Park and the Cape May – Lewes Ferry. We currently staff our units with 17 full-time career NREMT-Bs and several part-time career NREMT-Bs who work in shifts of six during the day and four at night. All shifts are complimented with volunteer NREMT-Bs as call volumes demand. This staffing allows Lewes Fire Department to provide EMS coverage for our district on a 24/7 basis with no interruption in service, despite the enormous growth in our area and rising number of EMS calls. Our goal is to serve you at your time of need with the best trained staff and the most up to date equipment possible.
