Vehicle Accident - Coastal Highway

At approximately 11;30 AM on Thursday, February 11, 2021, Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehcile accident at the intersection of Coastal Highway and Shady Road. First arriving units found two cars involved, with one vehicle having severe damage and requiring LFD to begin extrication activities to free the victim. Extrication took approximately 35 minutes to complete. A total of 3 patients were treated by Lewes EMS personnel and Sussex County Paramedics, with none of the injuries considered life threatening. Responding units included Engines 82-3, 82-5, and 82-9; Rescue 82; Ambulances B-82 and E-82; Command 82-8; Fire Police; and Sussex County EMS Paramedics.
