Lewes Fire Department will be hosting it's Inaugural Fire Prevention Open House at Station 2 (by Nassau Bridge) on Tuesday, October 22, from 5 to 9PM. The event is free and open to all. Children will be given a "Passport" with a Firehouse map showing designated stations that need to be visited in order to qualify for a prize and a raffle entry.
There will be live fire and vehicle extrication demonstrations, a smoke house, equipment displays, CPR presentations, and children's activities. Auxiliary members will provide ambulance- and fire truck- shaped cookies for kids to decorate and eat. Sparky will also be available for photos and high fives. Members will be on hand to guide, explain and demonstrate. There will be informational handouts, fire prevention materials and free smoke detectors. Taco Reho, The Big Salami, Suburban Farmhouse and 2 Dips Ice Cream trucks will be selling food onsite.
