The Lewes Fire Department was invited to participate in a hoagie making contest during the Lewes WaWa's location Hoagiefest. The Lewes Fire Department was up to the challenge and competed against Delaware State Troopers from Troop 7. Two National Guard units competed against each other as well. Winners would receive a check for $1000 and second place teams would receive $500 towards their favorite charity. Competition was fast and furious with the Troop 7 taking the win 35 hoagies to 27 for the Lewes FD. The event was well attended with everyone having a great time. The Lewes Fire Department thanks WaWa Corporation and the Lewes WaWa for their ongoing support.
