Apartment Fire - Carillon Woods Apartments
Thu, Nov 8, 2018

At approximately 9:20 PM on November 8, 2018, Lewes FD was alerted to an apartment fire at the Carillon Woods Apartments in the Long Neck area. First arriving units from Indian River reported heavy fire showing from an apartment complex that was still under construction. Units from Indian River (80) and Millsboro (83) responded to the initial alarm along with Lewes. A second alarm was requested by Indian River, bringing units from Milton (85), Rehoboth Beach (86), Georgetown (77), and Dagsboro (73) to assist. Medical support was provided by Mid-Sussex (91) and SCEMS. Efforts to bring the fire under control were initially hampered by low water pressure. Slaughter Beach (89) provided a stand-by engine to help cover the LFD district during the incident, and LFD helped provide EMS coverage in the Mid-Sussex district. All units were cleared by 2:00 AM on November 9. Responding units from Lewes included Engines 82-2, 82-3, 82-5, and 82-9, and unit 82-11.
