Santa in the Hood 2018

We will be bringing back our ever-popular Santa in the hood program this year.  This fun event brings Santa Claus and plenty of Christmas cheer out to the neighborhoods in our community.  

2018 Lewes FD “Santa in the Hood”

Whether you have been naughty or nice during the month of December, if you happen to hear sirens near your home, you may want to look outside and see if Old Saint Nick is riding though your neighborhood. The members of the Lewes Fire Department will be proudly carrying Santa Claus on top of a fire engine through as many of our neighborhoods as possible. “Santa in the Hood” dates and times are listed below. Please just remember there are many variables which will dictate our visit including the fact that it will be cold and Santa and his helpers will be out for over 2 hours each evening.

Below you will find a rough schedule of areas and the dates (weather permitting since Rudolph will not be pulling the fire engine around.

Approximate times each night will be from 6:00 to 9:00 pm:

November 29^th

            Developments and neighborhoods in the following areas:

            West side of Rt 24 from Plantations Rd to Dorman Rd

            Including Conley’s Chapel rd., and Will king rd.

Beaverdam Rd from Coastal club to Conley’s Chapel Rd

December 5^th

Developments and neighborhoods in the following areas

Along Savannah Rd from Five Points to Cape Henlopen Drive including

“in town” Lewes.

            Cape Henlopen Drive including Port Lewes and Cape Shores.

            Along Kings Highway and Gills Neck Rd

December 13^th

            Developments and neighborhoods in the following areas

Along plantations Rd from Henlopen Landing to Rt 24. 

            Rt 1 from Dartmouth Dr to Rt 24.  Also including Robinsonville Rd

December 20^th

            Developments and Neighborhoods in the following area:

            Cave Neck Rd

            Rt 1 from Redfox Run South to Five Points

            Minos Conaway Rd

            Rt 9 from Dairy Farm Rd to Five Points

          Please understand that Santa and his elves will be working very hard to visit as much of the Lewes area as possible.  With the increasing growth in the area not all neighborhoods or streets in a particular area will be able to be visited.  The above schedule is subject to change for a variety of reasons including but not limited to weather, emergency calls, ect.   Please feel free to send any complaints or compliments to Jason Stadler c/o Lewes Fire Dept 347 Savannah Rd, Lewes De 19958
