Motor Vehicle Accident - Nassau Bridge
Sun, Aug 25, 2019

Shortly before midnight on Sunday, August 25, 2019, LFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway on the Nassau Bridge. An ambulance from Millsboro (83) was in the area returning to their station, and was the first on the scene. Upon arrival, they found a single vehicle overturned with one occupant unable to get out. LFD units arrived, and utilizing cribbing and high-pressure airbags, were able to lift the car high enough for the occupant to escape. The occupant suffered minor injuries only and refused transportation to the hospital. LFD units on the scene included Engines 82-1, 82-2, and 82-9; Ambulances B-82 and E-82; Command 82-8; and fire police. Assisting LFD were Ambulance C-83 (Millsboro) and SCEMS. Trooper 2 was alerted for this call but was not used.
