Shortly after midnight on 8/20/19, LFD was dispatched to assist a medical helicopter with transferring a patient out of Beebe Hospital. This is perhaps one of the "less exciting" dispatches LFD gets, but the department plays an important role in the safe operations of the helicopter and the transfer of the patient when Beebe's helipad is not available for use. At the landing site, LFD personnel ensure that the scene is safe and clear of any obstructions. The flight medic and flight nurse are then transported by our ambulance to Beebe, where the patient is picked up and brought back to the helicopter. LFD personnel assist the flight crew with loading the patient into the helicopter, and it's another safe transfer in the books. Assisting this morning was Command 82-8, Brush 82-10, and ambulance B-82.
