Upstanding Students
The recipients of the CHHS December Upstander Awards are sophomore Ruby Lundeen and junior Cameron Cortes. Ruby was nominated by English teacher, Mrs. Springfield after she helped a visually-impaired student navigate her way around New York City. In early December, students traveled to NYC to see the Broadway performance of To Kill A Mockingbird. Cameron Cortes was nominated by Mrs. Humes who said Cameron is "the epitome of a 'student-athlete'." Cameron is constantly working hard both in the classroom and with the Cross Country team. Mrs. Humes wishes she could "bottle him up and clone him!" Way to go Cameron and Ruby! Keep up the great work! Cameron also received the Junior Firefighter of the year at our banquet in January. We are very happy to have this hard working young man in our department.
