Structure Fire - Spring Breeze
Fri, Apr 13, 2018

At approximately 1:45 AM on Friday, April 13, 2018, LFD received an alarm for a working structure fire in the new Spring Breeze subdivision, located at the far southern end of our district.  The first arriving unit, a SCEMS paramedic unit, reported that it was a house under construction, and fully involved.  The fire was driven by strong winds, and suppression efforts were hampered by a lack of working hydrants in the subdivision, as construction is still on-going.  A water shuttle was established from the closest working hydrant, and the fire was declared under control after approximately 90 minutes.  No injuries were reported.  Responding units from LFD included Engines 82-1 and 82-2; Tanker 82-4; Rescue 82; Command 82-8; Ambulance A-82; and Fire Police.  Assistance at the scene was provided by Rehoboth Beach (86), Indian River (80), Milton (85), Millsboro (83), and SCEMS.
