On Wednesday November 9th @ 23:32 Lewes was dispatched to a 40 foot sailboat in distress off the Ferry wall. Due to Gale froce winds and high waves the boat tried to seek shelter behind the wall and ran aground. 2 people were aboard the vessel. 82-M1 went responding in 5 foot swells in the bay. Due to waves M1 coulden't get to the crew aboard. A Coast Guard helocopter from Cape May assisted by dropping a swimmer in the water and taking the crew from the boat to the jetty. All units returned safe and the sailboat ran aground on lewes beach the next day.
