At 1613 on Sunday January 24, the Lewes Fire Department along with the Indian River Fire Department were dispatched to assist Rehoboth with a reported dwelling fire. Assistant Chief Stadler arrived on the scene and found smoke coming from the chimney area of the home rapidly deteriorating into heavy fire. Engines from Lewes as well as the ladder made a response. Crews from Lewes opened the roof and provided fire suppression to the second division. The fire was placed under control with no injuries.
