Lewes Fire Department Members Train With Air Lifting Bags & Cribbing - Lewes Station 2
Mon, Jan 21, 2013
On the evening of January 21st., Lewes Members participated with Auto Extrication/Rescue Training on our Air Lifting Bags and Cribbing Techniques. All members were refreshed on proper selection, set up, and use of the lifting bags from Rescue 82. The members also worked with various wood cribbing techniques to stabilize vehicles or support a lifting bag operation. The evening concluded with a full scale drill of an injured victim trapped underneath of a large SUV type passenger vehicle. The victim was rescued using multiple air lifting bags and the required cribbing to support the operation. DSFS Instructor Jack Wilson lead the class and supervised the drill. Great job to all of the members attending the training exercise!
1 alarm for a vehicle accident was answered by the Lewes Members during the training class.
