Vessel stranded & taking on water - Broadkill River S/O Oyster Rock Road

On Thursday August 16, 2012, at approximately 1735 hours, the Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to assist a vessel taking on water in the Broadkill River S/O Oyster Rock Road. Marine 82-1 responded with a crew of five and arrived at the stranded vessel at 1751 hours. The stranded vessel was secured along Marine 82-1 and crews started to perform the dewatering process. Tow Boat US arrived shortly after and also assisted with dewatering the vessel. Once the vessel was dewatered, the vessel still would not start. Marine 82-1 assisted Tow Boat US with preparing the vessel to be towed to the City of Lewes Public Boat Ramp. Marine 82-1 cleared the vessel and returned to the dock at approximately 1824 hours.
