Crew on Marine 82-1 saves sinking boat - Atlantic Ocean off of Cullen Street Dewey Beach

On July 1, 2012, at approximately 1924 hours, The Lewes Fire Department's Marine Unit was dispatched to assist the Rehoboth Beach Fire Company with a boat taking on water with subjects still on board off the the coast of Cullen Street, Dewey Beach.  Marine 82-1 responded with a crew of five. The occupants of the vessel were able to board a Coast Guard Boat prior to our arrival. Upon our arrival, the crew was able to secure the vessel and start to dewater it. At approximately 2145 hours, Tow Boat US arrived and towed the boat to the area of the Indian River Inlet. Marine 82-1 arrived back to the dock at approximately 2213 hours.
