On Wednesday June 20, 2012, at approximately 1008 hours, the Lewes Fire Department and Medic 104 were dispatched to a head on motor vehicle collision at Coastal Highway and Shady Lane. Upon arrival, two vehicles were located in the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway. Asst. Chief Walt Reynolds assumed command. Crew members assisted with patient care, performed vehicle stablization, debris clean up and traffic control. Three patients were transported BLS to Beebe Medical Center. Units on scene: Engines 82-5, 82-9, Rescue 82, Ambulances C & D 82, Medic 104, DSFP and DSP.
