Standby for suspicious package - Pelican Square Shopping Center

On October 21, 2011 at approximately 2217 hours, The Lewes Fire Department was dispatched to assist the Delaware State Police with a suspicious package. Upon arrival, units staged while the DSP Bomb Squad examined the package. Medic 104 and EMS 100 monitored the bomb technicians. Fire Police assisted DSP with shutting down all vehicle and pedistrian traffic from entering the area. At approximately 0115 hours, the package was made safe and all fire units cleared. Units on scene: Command 82, Engine 82-5, Ambulance 82, Medic 104 & EMS 100, DSFP, DSP, and FM11.
