MVA rollover with entrapment presents unique rescue - Plantations Road N/o Postal Lane

0127  Lewes FD was dispatched along with Sussex M104 to a reported serious MVA with rollover and entrapment. Chief 82-15 was first on scene and confirmed one subject trapped in a vehicle on it's roof.  Safety 82 was the Duty Officer for the evening, arriving soon after 82-15 and took the command, Chief 82-15 took extrication.  When the glass was removed to gain access to the vehicle it was discovered that there were10 small dogs in the vehilce. The patient was extricated quickly in the first 10 minutes, but all units remained on the scene for almost an hour to assist with the recovery of the pets. DSP transported the animals to Troop 7 and called for an animal control officer for assistance to care for the dogs. We were able to recover 9 out of 10 but one ran away.   If anyone living in the area of Sandy Brae, The Plantations or Plantations East, sees a dog matching the photos on this web page please contact DSP.   Units responding were Chief car, Command, Amb B82, C82, Rescue82-6, E82-5, E82-2, Medic 100, Medic 104, and DSP
