Assist Rehoboth on working building fire

The Lewes Fire Department along with the Indian River Fire Company were dispatched to assist Rehoboth on a reported structure fire.  With 13 volunteers staffing Station 2,  Engine 82-2, Engine Tanker 82-4, and the Duty Officer responded within a minute from dispatch.  Additional members responded with Ladder 82 and Engine 82-9.  Ambulances from Rehoboth arrived to find smoke showing in the area and Assistant Chief Stadler, 82-18 arrived to find the same conditions. Engine 82-2 and Engine Tanker 82-4 arrived simultaneously and began an aggresive attack to suppress the fire. Engine 82-2's crew advanced through the A side after securing the hydrant at the entrance, while Engine Tanker 82-4's crew advanced through side C after securing the utilities and securing two points of secondary means of egress. Crews found a fire in the attic space and worked quickly to contain the fire. Crews from Ladder 86 and Ladder 82 performed verticle ventilation as crews from Rehoboth and Indian River assisted with overhaul, suppression, and extention investigation. 86-15 assumed command after a transfer of command was performed and 82-18 operated as the Operations Officer for the duration of the fire. Bethany Beach also arrived on the scene to assist and multiple companies backfilled stations to cover Rehoboth, Longneck, and Lewes during the event. No injuries were reported.
